How much do blood tests cost?

Real prices, published before you order. Every test below is the actual cash price charged at checkout — no insurance, no membership, no quotes.

01

What common blood tests cost

These are live prices from our catalog — the same numbers you'll see at checkout. Each order adds one $25 clinical & collection fee per order (not per test), waived when your tests total $149 or more.

Bundles group related tests at a combined price — browse bundles — and the full menu covers 584 individual tests.

02

Why the same test has wildly different prices

Blood work has no single price in the United States. The same test can be billed very differently depending on where it's drawn and how it's paid for: through insurance at a hospital, through insurance at an independent lab, or directly, cash-pay, with no insurance at all.

Insurance-billed lab work often involves negotiated rates, deductibles, and separate facility or collection charges that only surface on the final bill. Direct-pay testing works the other way around: the price is attached to the test itself and published before you order.

That's the model here — every price above is the complete test price, one $25 clinical & collection fee per order (not per test), waived when your tests total $149 or more is the only addition, and the physician order is included.

03

How ordering works

Order online and a physician order is included — no doctor's visit or insurance needed. Visit a Quest Diagnostics patient service center to have your sample collected.

Results are emailed to you securely as a PDF. Laboratory results should always be interpreted by a licensed clinician who knows your health history.

Frequently asked questions

How much does blood work cost without insurance?+

With direct-pay lab testing the price is set per test and shown before you order. At Celio Health common tests start at $15, and every order adds one $25 clinical & collection fee per order (not per test), waived when your tests total $149 or more — that total covers the physician order, the lab visit and your results. No insurance is involved.

Is there a fee besides the test price?+

One: one $25 clinical & collection fee per order (not per test), waived when your tests total $149 or more, which covers sample collection at the lab. There are no memberships, subscriptions or surprise charges.

Why do the same tests cost so much more at a hospital?+

Hospital and emergency-department lab work is usually billed through insurance at negotiated rates, often with separate facility and collection charges that are hard to see in advance. Direct-pay testing prices the test itself, up front, and skips insurance billing entirely.

Does a cheaper price mean a lower-quality lab?+

No — your sample is collected at a Quest patient service center and processed by the same CLIA-certified laboratory that serves physicians. The savings come from how the test is ordered and billed, not from where it is processed.

Do these prices include the doctor's order?+

Yes. A physician order is arranged as part of every purchase, so you don't need a separate appointment before testing.
